Council PTA-Scholarship Winners and End-of-Year Awards
The Lubbock ISD Council of PTAs announced the PTA scholarship student winners at the spring awards luncheon on May 10. Each scholarship recipient plans to enter the teaching profession and received $1,000 to put toward their education. End-of-Year awards were also given. Click here to read more in the E-Reporter.
Summer Reading Challenge 2012
Lubbock ISD presents the Summer Reading Challenge for all students, faculty and staff. This challenge is meant to encourage and motivate students and adults to read for pleasure throughout the summer months. PTA Sponsored School Supply Kits

The Irons PTA is going to make available to students the option of ordering a school supply kit that will include “teacher tailored school supplies.” This will be a great way to obtain the required classroom supplies as well as avoid the shopping rush at the beginning of the school year in August, 2012. These kits will be sold on a pre-order basis; grade specific order form. Order forms are being sent home with 6th and 7th grade students on Tuesday, May 8. Ordering deadline is Friday, May 18; pick up date is Thursday, August 23 at Open House.
